She grew up in Gauteng, Johannesburg in a township called Tembisa. She was never exposed to anything that had to do with Performing Arts, in primary school she participated in the school’s public speaking and debating team which helped her with her confidence and communication skills. Boitumelo first became exposed to performing arts in 2008 when she joined the local love life group in her neighbourhood. She mainly participated in performing drama and poetry, and that is how she developed the love she has for performing art. After matriculating in 2012, she decided to study Drama at the University of Pretoria. She participated in several productions in the University’s art festivals, namely (After- Roboto in 2014, Maswali (inquiries) and Asinamali in 2015). In June 2014, she signed a one and a half year contract with Telesure, which is a group of insurance companies. In this company, she takes part in a corporate theatre skit piece. She was solely in love with theatre until she became exposed to camera acting in 2015, which is part of her study program. It is through her love for acting for camera that she was introduced to an agency by her lecturer.
