Lauren fell in love with the world of theatre at the tender age of 6, when she first saw Phantom of the Opera on stage. She has a promising singing voice for musical theatre and a strong and versatile speaking voice. Lauren has an appealing stage persona. Audience reaction to her in pianist Rocco de Villier’s show Country Boy, Almost, where she had a small role, was positive enough for him to substantially increase her role in the four-week run of All About the Piano at Pieter Toerien’s Theatre & Studio at Montecasino, where she was a key performer. During this, she caught the eye of a newpaper critic, who in his review expressed the wish to see more of her on stage. Her warm, spontaneous personality enables her to connect with people immediately. Her enthusiasm, combined with her commitment and ability to sustain hard work, makes her a welcome addition to any cast. She takes direction very well. Lauren is currently featuring as a waitress on Kyknet soapie Binnelanders and has been a featured extra in 7e Laan a number of times. She took ballet as a school subject, up to grade 7, in addition to drama. She regularly features in school productions. She plans to study and pursue a career in musical theatre post matric. Lauren is very committed to theatre and sees a great deal of it, in part for the joy of it but also to learn. She reflects critically on what she sees and absorbs her reflections into her own practice.
