Melinda Brink has shown an interest in acting since the ripe young age of 8. Under the tutelage of Shareen Swart, she started honing her skills at Starstruck School of Acting, which later became the Performing arts Lifestyle Institute. Throughout her school years, Melinda participated in various school productions, including Nico Lewis’ Aku Vang ‘n Ster, in her Matric year, which landed her a bursary at The University of Free State, but she chose to finish her drama studies with Shareen Swart at PALI. She also featured in a film, 5 Minutes Late, alongside Andre Velts, Kaz McFadden and then Desiree Manthee. Since then, Melinda has performed in many student theatre productions including House of Clowns, The Crew, Kadawer and her one woman show in 2014, Die Kamer Bo, directed by Shareen Swart. In 2015, she did her second one woman show as Mornique in Fladder, written and directed by Kaz McFadden. Student films include Imaginary Friend, Huis Mandelein, (Een)saam and The Newcomer. Melinda is looking to establish herself as a versatile theatre, television and film actress so as to become a well-loved face and talent in the South African entertainment industry.
