Mongené is an aspiring dancer, actress and performer. With training such as ballet, modern, jazz , contemporary , tap and hip hop can she not only strut her stuff on stage but also in front of the camera. Mongené had her first taste as a movie actress on set as an extra in the movie French Toast directed by Paul Kruger in 2014. In 2017 she was cast as the lead female, Carli, in Sangoma Sindroom the short movie for the Kyknet Silwerskerm Festival produced and directed by Ferdinand Gernandt. She was also casted as a featured extra in the Kyknet Silwerskerm Shortfilm Transito in 2015, produced by Hoërskool Waterkloof. She was recently casted in music videos for prominent solo artists: Juanita du Plessis’ Hambamba, LiiLa’s Losdans and Armand Joubert’s Drome Word Waar. She is also a featured dancer in the Johnsons Workwear Corporate video. She also performed in musical productions such as 96000 the musical in 2014 and Follicle the musical in 2015 and Swing Swing Swing at the University of Johannesburg in 2016. With a passion for the performing arts, Mongené has received a scholarship to attend the American Academy of Ballet’s Summer School in 2015. She also represented South Africa at the IDO World Dance Championships in Copenhagen where they won first place gold for their production, under the leadership of Eunice Marais School of Dance. Mongené has also been ranked second for ballet in the South African Dance Team of 2014. She earned a high distinction for her Royal Academy of Dance Advanced 2 exam and will do her Solo Seal ballet exam in 2017. Mongené is a qualified modern and ballet teacher for junior levels. She also concluded an exciting and adventures mentorship program with FADCreations. Mongené was also chosen to embark on a journey in 2013 to America where she showcased her talents at the well known platform AMTC.
