It all started with Chané in a small town when she was a young girl with a big personality. Besides being cast as lead roles in every school theatre productions, at age 5, Chané did Modern Dancing. This is where she realised she is born to be in the spotlight. At the time, she also got cast as a feature in a BBC documentary showcasing Chris Barnard’s life story. In 2010, Chané was in the school choir, played netball and took up Latin and Ballroom dancing reaching high levels of Gold and Novice. Moving out of her small town and in to the mother city; Cape Town for high School, Chané focused on her schooling and played sports such as basketball and netball. But in matric, she could not keep her passion for dancing and the stage hidden any longer and undertook the lead Samba dancer at the school’s fashion show. After school, she enrolled into the University of Cape Town, where she got a Bachelors of Arts degree in 2011 in Media Studies & Writing, Sociology and Linguistics. During this time Chané did part-time modelling where she did a fashion editorial shoot for Edgars Magazine, a billboard shoot for charity and other polaroid’s. In 2011 Chané and her family moved to Pretoria, where she applied for a Bachelors of Arts Honours Degree in Journalism, allowing her the opportunity to refine her writing and communication skills. Here she also learned about television and presenting for news. She then also got asked to feature as a guest on the game show The Verge which aired on Vuzu TV. She was also cast in a number of prominent music videos, promotions and events, and then got scouted to participate in the Miss South Africa 2012 Pageant, where she peaked Top 24. After Miss South Africa, she was immediately interviewed to be in the Face of JetSet, where she was a finalist in this pageant. She then took a short course in drama, to give her acting career a boost. This opened doors for her as a feature in the Afrikaans film, Die Ballade Van Robbie De Wee and has since been cast as a feature in a few television commercials. Chané is now self-employed in the Marketing Industry and balances both her business and modelling/artistry career. Chané prides herself in being well travelled, women empowerment and being a world changer.
