The South African actress, producer, writer and model Donnalee Roberts is best known for her work in the blockbusters and award-winning films Pad na jou Hart, Ballade vir 'n Enkeling & Vir Altyd. Vir Altyd which she co-wrote and co-produced received the 2016 Tempo Award for Best Feature Film of the Year and Donnalee received the Tempo Award for Best Actress of the year for her lead role as Nina in Vir Altyd. In 2015 she played Carina Human, the lead role in the feature film Ballade vir ’n Enkeling – the cinematic remake of the well-known and iconic television series for which she won the 2015 Tempo Award for Best Actress of the Year. Pad na jou Hart which she co-wrote and co-produced received the 2014 Tempo Award for Best Feature Film of the Year, Donnalee received the Tempo Award for Best Actress of the year for her lead role as Amory in Pad na jou Hart and she also received a SAFTA nomination for her work in the film. Pad na jou Hart received the 2015 Natal Film Commission Simon Sabela Award for Best Feature Film. Donnalee is the co-owner of the production company 17 FILMS, specializing in the development, production and marketing of quality value based films. 17 FILMS was also behind the marketing of the successful film Ballade vir ’n Enkeling. In 2017 Donnalee will play the lead character in the female adventure film Stroomop of which she is the co-developer and co-producer and which will be be released nationwide mid 2018. Other acting credits include, the lead role as Cybil Ferreira in the feature film Klein Karoo and as Annelie in 7de Laan. Donnalee graduated in 2006 with a BA Drama degree from the University of Pretoria, after which she completed a two-year film school course at PALI (Performing Arts and Lifestyle Institute). In 2012 Donnalee studied at the renowned New York Film Academy where she received a diploma in Acting for Film.
