Kea Moeketsane obtained her Drama diploma at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2007. She entered professional industry in 2008 acting in Romeo and Juliet directed by Claire Stopford. Since then, she has worked for the children’s theatre company On Cue, playing the lead in Betty Button in 2010 and other productions; The Swan Princess, The princess of High seas and, most recently Barnyard theatres Hansel and Gretel in 2012. Her television credits include Two Mindset Dramas , SABC’s award winning Sokhulu and partners and Ga Re Dumele on SABC2 and presenter for the Learning channel . She has performed in various industrial theatre campaigns for Hecate, The Win Win Group, Stage fright, Water affairs and Blue moon communications. She’s also an aspiring theatre director who completed fieldwork programs under the South African state theatre umbrella. In 2011 she won Best Director for her adaptation of Nico Louwes’ play Zollie. She has worked as an assistant director for Aubrey Sekhabi in the Naledi award winning play Rivonia Trial in 2010 and 2011 respectively. She debut her first directing project, Sorry Wrong number, at the National Arts Festival in 2012. She then had a successful run at the South African State Theatre shortly after. She has written and directed Forgiveness a stage play she adapted from a Greek tragedy in 2014. In 2015 she produced Home Theatre Festival at The south African State Theatre and was invited as a mentor director at The theatre royal east in Stratford in London.
