Lian West always knew she wanted to be an actress, and has pursued her dreams endless- and relentlessly. She has been training since the age of 10, doing various classes and Eistedfodds, as well as performing in high school plays. She earned her Bdram degree from The University of Stellenbosch in 2010, where she appeared in numerous productions during her three years there, including Aladdin and Snow White, and specialized in Cabaret and Media. She was then invited to attend the New York Film Academy, and granted a talent scholarship, where she graduated in 2011. She was part of a production company in Brooklyn, New York, and helped produce three shows, one of which was the World’s First Robot Film Festival. She decided to come back home to South Africa and help build the local acting scene, since she believes South African talent is just as good as the rest of the worlds’, if not better. Since her return, she has worked on the 2012 Kyknet Fiesta Awards, the Toffie Pop Festival and shows for the Gariep Fees. In 2013, she set her sights on producing, and in 2014 she produced the Silwerskerm Film Fees short film, Eenrigting. She acted in the film and also landed the role of Christa Saaiman on Binnelanders.
