Mary-Anne Wright is a New York and South African based actress, singer, dancer, writer and director. Born to international Business Man John Collin Wright and Dr Frances Ray Wright, Wright grew up in the business world in Johannesburg, South Africa. She received her BA Dramatic Art (Hons. Equivalent) Degree from the University of Witwatersrand. Wright moved to New York City in 2012 where she obtained a Diploma in Musical Theatre from the New York Film Academy. Wright has worked as a lead in such prestigious New York Theatres as BB Kings 42nd Street, The Union Square Theatre, The June Havoc Theatre and The Irish Repertory Theatre (to name a few). Wright has also written, directed and designed successful productions of her own work in NYC, at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre and The Tank Theatre, as well as in South Africa at POP Art Centre. Wright has received training from Broadway professionals, namely: Singing lessons from Kristy Cates (Alphaba- Wicked on Broadway), dancing lessons from Michelle Potterf & Deidre Goodwin (Chicago on Broadway) and she continue to hone her acting skills at MCS Studios NYC where she studies the Meisner Technique. “Mary-Anne Elizabeth Wright's composure on stage is powerful and enchanting and is unexpected of a performer of her age.
