Annelize received her training at the University of Stellenbosch, she proceeded to work at PACOFS Workshop Theatre in Bloemfontein after which her freelance acting career started in 1976 with ‘Dokter Dokter’, the first multi-cam TV series in Afrikaans for SABC TV. More TV series followed, some of which were: Drama Drama, Die Koster (The Beadle), Casimir (Children’s series), Dr Con se Overberg, Sebastiaan Senior, Sagmoedige Neelsie, Agter Elke Man (Series 2). Films she appeared in were: Taxi to Soweto, Skelms and Blink Stefaans. Since 2002 Annelize can be seen as Matrone Netta Nortje in the daily soap on SABC 2, 7 de Laan. Over the years she also performed in Market Theatre productions like Pieter Dirk Uys’s legendary ‘Van Aardes van Grootoor’ as well as the cabaret ‘Die lewe is ‘n grenshotel’ by Hennie Aucamp, directed by Janice Honeyman. From 1981 until 1997 Annelize was a full time senior language dubbing director for SABC TV. She trained many prospective African language speaking directors to master the art of language dubbing from European language series, films and animated films into African languages spoken in South Africa.
