From a young age Franci has appeared in various television and radio dramas such as PG du Plessis’ Kooperasie Stories, Soon Pieterse’s Gesie, and Stephan Bouwer’s Ntinzini Spa as wel as the role of Karlien in Leon van Nierop’s radiodrama Stralerjakkers. She has always been a fan of animation dubbing and her role as Groenie die drakie remains one of her favourite roles. After school, Franci studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch and appeared in various productions as well as Johan van Jaarsveld’s television drama Woestynblom in her final year. Since moving back to Johannesburg in 1994, she workedd as a continuity presenter for the SABC until 1999. In 2000 Franci joined kykNET as their first newsreader and then also presented the travel program Swerftyd. In 2001 she starting working on kykNET’s Fiesta which is still on air. In 2005 Franci joined the kykNET soap, Binnelanders, as the character Toeks until 2011 and won the ATKV award for Best Actress in a Soap. Since then Franci has gone from strength to strength acting is series such as Deon Opperman’s Hartland, Getroud met Rugby, Sterlopers, Donkerland (for which she won an ATKV Veertjie for Best Actress in a Drama) and Lieftse Kayla Her stage credits include Hennie van Greunen’s Janneman and Deon Opperman’s Aantrekkingskrag. She is also co-producer of 10-uit 10-op kykNET as well as various documentaries for which Krismis in die Klein Karoo walked away with a ATKV Award for Best Documentary. Franci’s film credits includes the Lien se Lankstaanskoene, Pad na jou hart, Stom for the kykNET Silwerskerm Festival as well as the role of Almeri Rautenbach in Jans Rautenbach’ film, Abraham in 2014.
