Shani started drama lessons at the age of four. Since then she took part in Eisteddfods and won several trophies. In 2013 she was awarded the Best Overall Drama Student Trophy at the Centurion Kunstefees. She took part in the South African Talent Championships and won 3 platinum (highest achievement) medals in the acting category. She also won a first and third place for modeling. Shani landed her first professional role at the age of six in the stage production Balkie. It featured at Innibos, The Performer Theater, Pierneef Theater and Die Volksbald Kunstefees in Bloemfontein. At the age of nine she starred as a lead in SMS:Babakoors!, a stage production at the Vryfees and Atterbury Theater. She was landed a role of young Maggie in the feature film Wolwedans in die skemer(2012). She then starred in two feature films: Musiek vir die agtergrond(2013) as Michelle and in Agent 2000:Die Laksman(2014) as a lead, L'Miri. Shani has a bubbly, outgoing personality. She is adventurous and loves to challenge herself.
