Connor was born into an acting family: both his father (Ashley Dowds) and his younger brother (Garion Dowds) are actors and his mother is a Drama teacher. He started acting at the young age of 5, featuring in a Just Jinger Music Video, Hooded Angels (Glory Glory) and award winning student film The Unique Oneness Of Christian Savage around this time. He went on to work in two more films. PREY (Darryl Roodt, Anant Singh) which he was a lead, and Krakatoa (BBC) which he played a supporting role. He went on to be leads in a few more commercials such as Mcdonalds Chicken. He studied Drama at school and was top practical student in his final year. He took a break from acting to get his degree in Journalism and Psych from Rhodes University but still managed to Film an american movie in his final year, American Girl: Lea Clark (Nadia Tass, who directed Shailene Woodley and AnnaSophia Robb in the previous American Girl Movies) in which he played the protagonists older brother. So far in 2016, he has recently finished acting in a French commercial and looks forward to new projects.
