He has been passionate about acting with a specific interest in film ever since he was a near toddler. Jock began his journey by enrolling in Stageworx performing arts school (2011) at the age of 11. Here he played the lead in the annual Stageworx production “Sing it!” (2012), where he also discovered is passion for singing and the art of performance. He started doing his Trinity Performing arts exams via Stageworx, where he furthered his passion for Acting and Singing. He completed in Grade 6 Trinity Performing arts exam (2014). Jock’s ambition and passion for the arts only grew more over the years. He took drumming lessons and completed his Trinity Grade 4, as well as participated in Latin American dance classes and competitions. Jock attended St Stithians College, where he continued his passion for Acting. He participated in the Festival of Excellence in Dramatic Arts (FEDA) from 2014-2017 and acted in four of these plays. He also participated as a backstage member for another play, “Mancub” (2015). Jock played the role of “Azdak” in the Bertolt Brecht production “The Caucasian Chalk Circle” (2017). Jock also grew his love for singing at St Stithians College by singing in the Choir and Duke of Cornwall Singers. The Duke of Cornwall Singers are an elite group of singers whom traveled to Sochi, Russia for the World Choir Games 2016 where they sang under the Champions league. The Dukes won 2 silver medals. Jock is truly grateful that he was able to participate in such an incredible competition and is so honored to have been able to sing alongside such remarkable individuals. In 2018, Jock Traveled to Los Angeles and continued his training his acting at the Speiser/Sturges Acting Studio, as well as the Pro-actor’s lab, coached by David Rotenberg, where he learned more than he could ever have expected. He is currently attending the Indigo View Advanced Actor’s Academy in Johannesburg. Jock continues to hone is craft as an actor, with a forever growing, undying passion.
