Phumlani Mdlalose believes that education, devotion and respect are the keys of a successful artist. He fell in love with Drama/acting when he was doing grade 10 and he chose to do dramatic art and music at J.G Zuma High school. He started doing theme programs in the exams and his love for performance grew. He joined a school choir in 2009 where he was exposed to choral and opera music, he was part of SASCE (South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod) 2009, 2010 and 2011. After completing grade 12 he went to DUT (Durban University of technology) to do a Drama studies (Diploma) 2013-2015. He studied acting, singing, dance and directing. Phumlani did 15 plays including Evita, Oliver Twist, Sarafina, The road and some mother’s sons to name the few. He also directed Omphile Molusi’s play called Cadre. When he’s not acting, he’s doing stage management, directing, watching TV and playing soccer.
