Aubrey began acting and entertaining in high school where he was part of the cast that went to the schools theatre competition called RAPS, in 2008 they won the competition with a play called “Pals” and the following year they came second with another play. He continued his passion by going to study Performance at the Wits school of the arts, during his time there he was able to be apart of many theatre productions such as “A Midsummer Nights Dream”, “The Father”, “Iagos last dance” and “Afrocartography”. He was also able to be part of a big advert for Monte Casino that was about the mavericks of Monte Casino, it included a television advert, billboards and Bus advertising. After Wits Aubrey was cast in a play called “Narrative Dreams” which premiered at the Grahamstown festival in 2014 and won a Standard Bank Ovation award, after that the play performed at the Cape Town fringe festival, then it performed around schools in Gauteng and became apart of a set of plays that are performed at National school festivals that happen around South Africa run by the Grahamstown schools festival foundation. In 2016 it got its first official season run at one of the national theatres, The National State theatre in Pretoria, this season run resulted in Aubrey getting nominated along with the play for “Best Newcomer/Breakthrough” and “Best Production for young audiences 13-17” at the 2017 Naledi Awards. He has appeared in eight adverts since entering the industry in 2015, “Better life home loans”, “Debonairs real deal advert”, “Stylin dreds” print advert, the SABC 1 “life and TV are 1” comercial, Bonitas medical aid “Eurika” commercial, “The 2017 Confederation cup” promo commercial for DSTV, the REDDs “Father Crispaa” commercial and also the ABSA music video commercial “SWISH”. He also features in two episodes of the second season of Saints and sinners. He has also featured in small roles on “The Road”, “Hardcopy” and “Generations the Legacy”.
