Calvin is a professional trained actor, theatre-maker and arts administrator who stands for activism in issues around identity, politics of the body and giving voice to people living with disabilities. He completed his Degree in Drama with the Tshwane University of Technology Drama and Film Department passing with a Cum Laude (specializing in Directing and Script writing) and has yet received awards from the National Arts Festival, Baxter Theatre, The Tshwane University of Technology and the South African State Theatre. He is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Theatre-making, employing praxis action research to investigate the director/theatre-makers embodiment within a South African context during performance making. He professionally freelances as a producer, director, writer, actor/performer, choreographer and fieldworker for different companies, institutions and organizations. He has worked with the National Arts Council of South Africa in one of their script development projects and fieldworks for The South African State Theatre Community Arts Dramaturgy Outreach (CADO) Program.
