Born, raised and schooled in Pretoria, Hendri Myburgh grew up with a love for the entertainment industry. After matriculating in 2008, he pursued his tertiary career when he enrolled for a Drama degree at the Tshwane University of Technology. During this period he got introduced to various stage productions of which some include: Festen, Holiday Snap, The Physicist, Pygmalion and Animal Farm. His talent got recognized on different levels when he received various awards including: Best Actor in 2010, Best Academic Student in 2011, received the Pretrorium Trust Bursary for excellence in his specialized field and served as the CEO of the DirACTions Festival in 2012. During his final year, Hendri pursued his career in radio broadcasting as a radio presenter and was rewarded with an MTN Radio Award in 2014 (Best Evening Show). He is currently still active within the field of radio at local radio station, GROOTfm 90.5. Hendri made his film debut in feature film As Jy Sing (where he portrayed the character of Been) in 2012, got introduced to television in kykNET’s Pandjieswinkelstories in 2014 and served as presenter on various occasions for BRAVO! Hendri further introduced the industry to his musical talents when he was approached to become the voice of Buster die Brak with South African actress, Hanna Grobler. This project assured Hendri a Ghoema award in 2015. With 2014 at its end, Hendri was asked to partake as a performer at the annual Afrikaans is Groot musical production and portrayed one of the lead roles, Thinus in Liefling: Die Musical (staged at the Teatro at Montecasino). Hendri’s television career extended when making history with Die Groot Ontbyt (as the first hybrid television- and radio show simultaneously broadcasting on both mediums) on kykNET. As a South African performer and inspired individual, Hendri is driven by the motto: “If you can dream it, you can do it” and he is convinced to pursue his dream.
