This Naledi Award winning singer/actor hails from Johannesburg but was born in London. Having spent 2 years in Hong Kong Disneyland performing in the Festival of the Lion King, he is now back in South Africa looking to take the industry by storm. Khaya has been singing for as long as he can remember and has sung in all his school choirs throughout his schooling career, including the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir and the SA Youth Choir. Having received professional vocal coaching since he was 11 years old, he has won numerous singing competitions and Eisteddfods. He is also a Hip-Hop/R&B composer. In 2010 he moved into the acting industry. He was featured in commercials and made his theatre debut at the National Children’s Theatre (NCT) with a role in the production African Tapestry (Directed by Francios Theron) which landed him the Naledi Award for Best Newcomer/Breakthrough. He was then featured in the NCT’s next production “The Wizard of Oz”. During this production he was called to perform the role of Simba at Hong Kong Disneyland in early 2011. He also ended up playing the role of Scar. Having equipped himself with this training and experience, Khaya is ready to show South Africa what he has to offer.
