Neil studied drama at the Tshwane University of Technology, where, in his time there he performed in various plays. In 2005 and 2006 he received the very sought after and prestigious best actor award at their annual Glass Crown Awards. In 2005 he performed at the KKNK in a play by Wim Vorster called “Skimmespel”. In 2006, he performed at Aardklop in the critically acclaimed piece “Dis ek Anna” where he played the role of a rapist stepfather. Other plays include, “Patch of earth” (Drawzen) and “a Midsummer Night’s Dream” as Lysander. In 2008 he was seen as Japie in the highly successful Afrikaans teen-comedy film, called Bakgat! In 2010 he reprised his role as Japie in the long-awaited sequel, Bakgat 2! Since then he has done another film called Superhelde, been seen on television as Wilhelm in 7de Laan, and recently featured in kykNET’s, Getroud met Rugby and Parys Parys. In 2013 he featured in Willie Estherhuizen’s “Molly & Wors: Die fliek” as well as Bakgat 3!, the last film in this popular franchise. In 2013 he starred in kykNET’s drama,”Donkerland”. Expect to see a lot more of this versatile actor in the not too distant future.
