Passionate and versatile performer, Phillip Schnetler grew up in Lydenburg. In 2007 he obtained his Provincial and National Colours in Acrobatics and then decided to learn more about the “performing arts”. After matriculating in 2008, Phillip went on to study Musical Theatre at, the Tshwane University of Technology, obtaining his National Diploma in 2011 under guidance of Joseph Du Preez. During his studies he had the privilege of working on productions such as RENT (Neels Clasen,2009), Parade (Elizma Badenhorst, 2010), the original musical Coloured Mecca (Tarquinn Whitebooi, 2011) as well as the rock musical Spring Awakening (Dr. Harold Mortimer, 2011). Phillip has worked on numerous children's theatre productions such as, ANNIE JR, THE ASTOUNDING ANTICS OF ANTHONY ANT as well as THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ for NCT. THE PURR FACTORY(SAST) and PETER PAN (Peoples Theatre) . He toured with educational theatre contracts for DUREX and FANTA to schools around South Africa. His professional musical theatre credits include, ESTER, JESUS THE MUSICAL(SAST), ONS VIR JOU (Artscape), DIE GESELSKAP (Rendezvous SAST), REIK NA DIE STERRE,SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER (SAST), and ANNIE (Teatro, Arstcape) In 2017 he takes on the role of Felicia/ Adam in the South African production of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESSERT (Artscape, Teatro, Thailand, China) directed by Original director Simon Phillips, produced by Showtime Management. He performed for corporates such as ATKV, Momentum, Gold Reef City, BUILD IT and Seychelles and he is also part of the Afrikaans touring pop group, CORTINA. His television credits include a leading role in the sitcom, KOELPIXELS. Phillip was also the leading actor alongside Debré Rossouw in the theatre production, ONTHOU, for which they won the 2015 prize for Best Production at the Kopanong Krêkvars Festival as well as Best Production at the Live Arts Little Theatre Festival. Onthou also performed at the 2016 Woordfees together with another production RAKA Directed by Deon Opperman. In Stellenbosch Onthou and got nominated for best Breakthrough production, and later was made into a short film for the 2016 Silwerskerm festival. Phillip had the privilege of working alongside legend actress Marga van Rooi (Nominated for best Actress) his commercial credits include Vodacom and BMW International.
