sifiso sikhakhane

Born in Durban, KZN and said to be "far ahead of his time" Sifiso Sikhakhane embraced his love for the arts at a very early stage in his life. His involvement with the Unilever Young Performers' Project gave him a chance to perform on a professional stage and since then, he has never looked back. Under Williams Ros Agency, Sifiso has had the opportunity of singing at many international openings and prestigious events such as the IFLA conference, ISPAD conference, Sunflower Fund and Nelson Mandela's 90th Birthday Celebration, hosted by Ethekwini Municipality. Holding a BA in Dramatic Arts (Choreography & Contemporary Performance) and Instrumental Music Studies (Classical Voice) from Rhodes University, this young professional has already worked with well-known heavyweights in the theatre industry such as Themi Venturas, Athina Vahla (Greece), Andrew Buckland and Juanita Fine-Stone Praeg, as a scholar, dancer, choreographer and actor. In 2011, Sikhakhane collaborated with Rhodes University Drama Department, Ubom! Eastern Cape Drama Company, Amaphiko Township Dance Project and Kingswood College Concert Band to choreograph the dance production, The Language We Cry In, which premiered at the National Arts Festival and later saw him receiving the Investec Rhodes Top 100 Award for Arts, Culture Society & Media. “…His passion and commitment to the arts knows no boundaries…”- Ismail Mahomed, Artistic Director- National Arts Festival
