Thabo Monareng, started his artistic journey in community youth centres of Soweto, were a spark of performance engulfed him.During his semi professional years he performed and travelled to local arts festivals (Grahamstown, Mmabana, etc). He later decided to further refine his skills and career by studying drama at the Tshwane University of Technology (Pretoria technikon), which he now holds a National Diploma in Dramatic Arts (majoring in Physical and Children theatre). During his studying years Thabo Monareng was chosen by an acclaimed international theatre company called “Het Water Huis” for a show called “Freebirds” (Directed by Jerry Pooe and Roel Twilstra), which travelled extensively in South Africa and abroad. After his studies he gained TV experience in supporting and primary roles like in Mponeng, Society and Choma (Kasi stories), lately Isibaya, Generations ‘The Legacy’ and several commercials i.e. Wimpy, Debonair’s, recently DSTV etc. Theatre experience: Hooked on Books, Bantwana ba se Afrika (Antoinette Snyman), Howzit Afrika in Aardklop festival(Antoinette Snyman and Jaco Maree),Walking Tall (PAST), (Craig Morris and Greg Melville Smith) travelling the African Diaspora. He was also involved in some few industrial works: The Vodacom road show, Kleva kids, Straight 6 safety videos and many other safety shows.
